The following guide is everything you need to know about the Downpour Puffer, our new 100% waterproof puffer jacket.

WATERPROOF.

Our Puffers have a 100% recycled polyester outer layer which is waterproof and breathable. They are seamed, taped and sealed to stop water penetration through stitch holes.

They are fitted with an AquaGuard® Zipper. This is a water repellent zipper with a PU film applied to the reverse side of the zipper chain with durable water repellent (DWR) finish that repels moisture.

100% RECYCLED.

In addition to their 100% recycled outer layer, our Puffers feature a 100% recycled insulation (specifically, Repreve PolyFil from Unifi, the world's leader in recycled polyester, making it certified and traceable).

Synthetic insulation means quick dry times, durability and warmth, even if wet.

MACHINE WASHABLE.

We have ensured that our Puffers are machine washable so they are easy to maintain.

When properly cared for, regular washing will help your puffer jacket last longer and perform at its best.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR PUFFER

1. BEFORE YOU CHOOSE YOUR WASHING METHOD

Does it really need washing? It's ok if it does, but always good to see if maybe just a spot clean and air out is all that's needed. We prefer a front loader machine as it gives a gentler wash, but it's not a deal breaker. Avoid spin cycles - but not Spin class ;). Naturally, polyfill gets heavy when it’s wet, so be cautious and avoid damage and clumping with gentle options. Don’t wring your jacket to remove excess water. If you must, gently shake any excess water off while supporting its weight. Don't use or store your jacket while it’s still damp/wet, because it'll stink and so will you.

2. CHOOSE YOUR WASHING METHOD

MACHINE WASH

Turn your jacket inside out (zip that baby up!) and place it in your washing machine. We suggest using a Guppyfriend Washing Bag to both reduce micro-waste and friction from your wash - this will also help your puffer last longer. Add your detergent of choice into the wash. Be gentle now :) you should only wash this on a cold/delicate cycle. No bleach or fabric softener to be used.

HAND WASH

Bath time! Fill up a small sink with cold water (brrr!). Add your detergent of choice into the wash. Enter the splash zone: submerge your jacket into the water and use gentle movements to wash it section by section.
Rinse not wring! Rinse out the jacket in clean water to ensure all detergent is removed. Lightly squeeze to remove excess water or even use a towel to help remove the moisture.

3. AIR DRY & STORE AWAY

This can take some time, depending on the conditions 8 - 48 hrs. Carefully remove your wet jacket. Either lay it flat or hang it (on a coat hanger) to air dry inside out – ensure it is done in a well-ventilated area. It is important to fluff the jacket as it dries (every 30-45 minutes). This will prevent the polyfill from clumping. When the jacket is completely dry, hang it to air out for an additional couple of hours before wearing or storing.

DO NOT TUMBLE DRY - The 3 layer fabric and bonded elements will be compromised in high heat. Keep this baby safe and in tip top condition. Allow your jacket to breathe and for it to live its best puffy life by staying uncompressed. Store hanging freely in your closet or loose in a laundry bag.
